Walking Together on Our Journey to Health

Hello World! I am happy to restart my blog and reconnect with all those who read it.

I have settled into my life here in Charlottesville and am loving living close to family and reconnecting with old friends. I am excited about getting my new practice up and running and am grateful for everyone’s support in getting it going. This past year has been tough. I don’t think I’m alone in saying that. #pandemic2020. This past year has been tough for almost everyone I talk to. Anxiety has been rampant- people who never had anxiety before are feeling it, and people who have had anxiety in the past (including me) have experienced an exacerbation . In January, my anxiety hit an all time high and I had to take some time off to take care of my mental health. I share that because I believe that we are on a journey together. I believe that the experiences I have and the lessons I learn directly help me to be a better physician. My experiences give me compassion for others and help me to understand on a deep level what others are experiencing. The more I can understand what is going on with me, the more I can understand others and help others to heal.

I believe that we are on a journey together, that we learn from each other and help each other to grow. I look forward to meeting all of my new patients and hearing their stories. Each of my patients has an impact on my life and teaches me something. I believe that it is through this working together that we are able to heal. Heal from our past trauma, heal from the trauma of our ancestors, heal from the trauma of living in the world as it is today. The more we can work together and heal, the more we can spread that healing to others and watch it grow.

I am excited to get started here in Charlottesville! I believe we can come together and start a whole new chapter in healing. I look forward to meeting each of you and continuing on our journey together. <3
